OIC Should Fulfill Its Obligations Toward Palestinian Nation

Iran is currently the rotating chairman of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). Thus, the Islamic Republic now enjoys the best opportunity to activate this organization and put an end to its passive stance on the issue of Palestine.
The Founder of the Islamic Republic, late Imam Khomeini had often voiced support for the cause of Palestine and solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians even before the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979. And right after the victory of the revolution, the Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat visited Iran to call for further support and assistance of the late Imam and the Iranian nation for the Palestinians.
The peace process within the framework of Oslo Accords did nothing for the Palestinian nation.
That is why the oppressed Palestinians have now decided to stand up for their violated rights and liberate their occupied territories from the clutches of the Zionist regime through general uprising and armed struggle.
President Seyed Mohammad Khatami, as the current chairman of the OIC, recently called for a meeting of the OIC foreign ministers to explore avenues of conveying assistance to the Palestinian nation.
As far as the OIC is concerned, it has to fulfill its obligations toward the oppressed Palestinians by working out an strategy to support their struggle against the Zionist occupiers.
This strategy should make use of any means, even the crude oil as an economic weapon, to put pressure on countries supporting the crimes committed against the Palestinians and violation of their rights by the Zionist regime, in particular the pro-Zionist U.S. administration.
The OIC should take the necessary measures as soon as possible to make the Zionist regime and its backers realize that the Palestinian people are not alone in their holy struggle, but are supported by over one billion Muslims throughout the world.
The support of the Islamic countries for the Palestinian people should continue until they liberate their homeland, in particular the third holiest site in Islam, al-Aqsa Mosque, from the control of the Zionist occupiers.
